The presence of high blood pressure increases the risk of all Cardiovascular endpoints. Most patients will need combination treatment to manage blood pressure, preferably with single-pill combinations.
Renin-angiotensin system inhibitors, thiazides or thiazides-like diuretics, calcium channel blockers, and beta-blockers are the main four cornerstone antihypertensive drugs used alone or in different ways combinations. Additionally, ACEi are preferable to ARBs, mainly in hypertensive patients with comorbidities
