Dr. Frederick Smith INTERNAL MEDICINE BAHAMAS
Dr. Frederick Smith began his medical career at UWI Mona and completed his MBBS in 1999. In 2001 he returned to UWI, Mona to pursue a DM in Internal Medicine and seeking to offer his services and experience served as Academic Registrar at UWI. Dr. Smith also served as an Emergency Room Officer at St. Andrews Memorial Hospital in Kingston and served in the Diabetic Association Renal Unit in Kingston. Recognizing his keen interest in Renal function and care and seeking to observe best practices globally, Dr. Smith was able to secure two observerships in both Caja Seguro, Panama City, Panama and S.U.N.Y. Down-State N.Y.C., New York for three months each. In 2005 Dr. Smith earned his DM and returned to the Bahamas, where he has served as Consultant and Clinical Tutor to UWI until the present. In 2010 Dr. Smith successfully completed his fellowship at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia in General and Transplant Nephrology. He is passionate in his service to provide the best care available and possible, and to ensure that PMH Nephrology is recognized for providing best in care and best practices in Nephrology services.
